Zeno is one of the newer additions to uptown. Billing themselves as a "triumph over blandness" Zeno holds true to its claims and features exquisite desserts, service, and of course, wine. Not to mention the huge list of different coffees…

Zeno is largely popular with the trendy folks and is thinking about having live jazz in the future. The seating area is a bit small, but it is nice to view all the tasty dessert options cafeteria style before ordering. Prices range from $3-15 for salads, apps, and deserts. You certainly won't get stuffed here, but you will walk away feeling completely satisfied and content. Zeno also features a wide variety of imported coffees for sale by the cup or pound. It also offers free wireless access and one-hour parking validation during the week before 4pm.

Horrible. Everything about our experience here was horrible. First of all, Zeno is having a serious identity crisis. They're now trying to assume the name 'Fusion', after remodeling in recent months and adding a sushi bar, which is hands down the best thing going for them. Their signs still say Zeno outside, but the menus say Fusion. Very confusing the first time there. It's now a lounge-y atmosphere that, everytime I've been there recently, seems to attract the Ed Hardy set. But really, MORE sushi in Uptown? And the rest of the menu is all over the place and poorly executed. French press coffee, BBQ quesadillas, clams (frozen, BTW), hummus, and sushi?! On top of all of this, they claim they're a dessert bar as well. Whew, just as exhausting as looking over their too-big menus, both in physical size and number of options. The one thing going for them are their seriously long happy hour specials, I mean I don't know how the owners or servers are making any money, they're like giving everything away! If you do go, try the sushi for sure, everything else is mediocre at best. And speaking of the owners, at our last meal at Zeno/Fusion there was a heavy set man in an old baseball hat, jeans, and ratty leather jacket running around barking orders at the staff and generally acting unprofessional. I mean, we overheard him insult another server right in front of our table! I questioned our server as to who this man was and she informed me it was one of the owners. Apparently he was working there that night, and dresses and acts in such a way regularly. We will not be going back, and I give this place 6 months to run themselves into the ground.

Horrible service!!! This is one place to avoid in uptown. I agree with Gigi. Overpriced for what it is, I think the place has an identity crisis. I am ready for this one to shut down, and something new to move in. Go to Chino if you want the faux glitz and drunk middle agers.

I am amazed that this little place is still in business. I was there years ago, but the service was so bad it took almost two years for me to go back.... and guess what.... the service still sucks. Its time this place wakes up and starts treating its valued customers with excellence. Its hard to believe that in this economy they treat people like this. AVOID AVOID AVOID. There are many worthwhile restaurants within a few blocks to dine at

Zeno has the best happy hour going anywhere right now. Great atmosphere, eclectic crowd and a nice upscale, hip vibe. Definately spring for the premium wine, best deal in town.
