A true Hipster Hangout. Kareoke nightly (Thur-Sat at 9:30pm). Long list of regulars and diverse crowd, Sweet.
Drinks are always cheap here! There are always weekly specials too, like $2 beer feature or shot special. The decor is like a total townie bar giving the VFW a lot of personality; that combined with the Free popcorn make it one of the better spots in Uptown.

Love LOve LOVE the VF, but the Country Bar let's you swear, drinks are cheaper, lines are shorter, and karaoke goes later! Leave the VFW for the older folks and go party with the REAL cool kids at the Country Bar!

You want a good burger cheap? This is the place on Saturday's. The menu is short. No frills burger/cheeseburger, with or without fries under $5. They only serve them 1pm to 3pm, but it's worth the money.

I love the VFW. It's like the dive bars my dad used to bring me to, when it was still en vogue to bring your kids to the bar. I like the grumbly regulars.

A great place to spend some time. They respect me a vet and seem to care about who I am. I always have fun at the meat raffle. Gayle makes me feel like I'm home and seems to enjoy her job. I talked to the bartenders and they all say she don't drink on the job. Don't know where that started but sounds like someone has a problem and wants to take it out on Gayle.

This bar in my kind of place to be. The only problem I have a Gayle is always drunk and very mean to everybody. She swears all the time, she tells people to shut up and f**ck off.. Who in the hell is she sleeping with to keep her JOB??????
