Fuji-Ya has the best sushi in uptown, located just off Lyn-Lake. The restaurant itself is quite large and can accommodate multiple large groups; despite the large number of people usually enjoying the succulent maki, it is still easy to get a seat right away. The decor is modern Japanese and features a bar and a sushi bar. Dinner time usually gets a large mix of ages, but the night time is generally for 20's-30's, especially on Sunday and Thursday from 9- Close when Fuji-Ya opens their floor to live DJ music (usually house or lounge-house music).

If you are in the mood for sushi, Fuji-Ya has won multiple awards and is Minneapolis' premier sushi house.

Came here for the happy hour after a movie tonight (Sunday). We sat at the sushi bar and had a great experience. The prices were good for happy hour, and the sushi chef made up a veggie roll not on the menu when he saw I wasn't digging the fish (not a fish lover, but thought I'd try anyway). Cute fruit dish for dessert, good pork gyoza, good beer and pretty attentive service. I will definitely be back!

Best HH...sit at the sushi bar and talk to the sushi chefs if you've never ate sushi b4...they will help u through your dinner. Make sure to have hot sake also.FYI we usually spend between 50-80 for two people...but we drink beer/sake throughout the meal. Greatest place for sushi!! I recommend this place to all my friends who come from out of town.

Somehow even during happy hour this gets expensive, but how delicious! Great service, great location, great food. The only fatter, richer, more velvety sea urchin I've had is when I dove for it myself. At Fuji-Ya, however, they remove the spines so you don't have to.

New to the Sushi Bar scene, but love Fuji-Ya. The atmosphere is great and the HH prices cannot be beat!

If you have guests from out of town or are entertaining a group of people, reserve a private room and go here! I always take visitors to Fuji Ya and I'm never disappointed. The private rooms make you feel like you're a VIP and the experience is truly special. Plus, the sushi is great (try the Winter Roll) and the staff is awesome.
