Been eatin the wings here since I was little! an I've never had food poisoning! Always a rockin time singing karaoke! This town is getting so yuppified and the Country bar stays true and classic! It gets a little ghetto sometimes, but karaoke usually chases that element out! I just wish they'd play more actual "country"!

I seem to remember lots of friendly, smiling women working there, now there's alot of cocky, no personality, thug male bartenders who look like they want to fight you when you order a drink. Guys like me want the hot chick bartenders back! This is not a gay bar! Why all the dudes? Also, I wouldn't trust the DJ thing, I've been there twice now on Mondays, no DJ! I'll keep comin' back for the wings, but only if Shorty and Wags is closed, as the Country Bars' tend to be ALOT smaller and too heavily seasoned.

It's a pretty O.K. bar, there's some shady folks there who will hustle you out of your dart quarters, and some really grumpy cooks who hate their jobs/lives, but the wings are pretty good and the horrible karaoke singers are always a hoot!

Im not to sure what CaliGirl86 below is talking about. The DJ that took over for the old ones is far more diverse. He may not play much vinyl, but his music mixes are from all over the map. The only time that he seems to play more HipHop is at the the end of the night when the party is jumpin........ You will hear music on these nights that now one else in the city is playing.....

Stop in on Mon or Tue Night for the best genre mix of music that Uptown has the offer. Happy Hour all day and night. Music starts at 10pm. Just moved in to the neighborhood, love the nummy wings here they are like crack! Me and my girls like dancing to the DJs and Karaoke! The only thing is the DJ guy plays the same music all the time, I wish he would broaden his taste, he just plays whats on the radio. And if you call yourself a "Country" bar you should at least TRY to get to know your targeted clientele! Toooo much hip-hop!

Always a good time! I love watching the tourists (that is, the first timers) take that first look around. then to see the shock on their face with the amount of change they get back on their drink! Sure some of the regulars can seem scary, but that's before you get to know them. Honestly if you can't have fun here, you can't have fun. Just be nice to the staff, and they'll be nice to you. ***holes just aren't tolerated.

This is the most filthiest bar i have ever seen , the woman's bathroom was gross and very dirty there was puke in the sink and it was plugged ,toilet paper all over the floor but none to use , NASTY thats all i got to say.

I stopped into the country bar last saturday for the first time, they had the most fun karaoke night I have ever seen. drinks were so resonable and the crowd was diverse and fun. The country bar is the new spot!!! thanks for the great time

I been a regular for along time and I must say the new owners rock! they have cleaned up the cliental and the bar. adding more culture and a youthfull feel. people are very friendly, staff is great. this bar is uptown at its finest!!!!! if you haven't checked this bar out before I highly recommend karaoke its one of the only bars that cheer you on no matter how bad you sing. always a blast!

Wow, Thank god for the new owner and management!!!! Its the same country look and more..... You dont have to wait for a drink anymore, the pore is still good so are the prices. And the wings are probably the best in the city. The Kareoke with Dani has allways been great and now they have added a Dj on Mon and Tuesday. Last Tuesday some friends and I were there and I think that they my have the hottest male bartender in Minneapolis.

I Love this bar.I guess you could say I'm a regular, I love the DJ nights on Tuesday, and karaoke nights never fail to entertain the sh*t out of me. One problem I do have with it, is a regular and now employee there named Chuck. He's loud and obnoxious and I've seen him get into three fights in one week! How can someone like that stay employed? They fired Courtney, but somehow Chuck remains? I don't get it! Other than that it's a fun, laid back place. The wings are deelish!

I miss the old atmosphere w the authentic regalia including the antique wooden Indian, hides and country flair. Now I see cheap posters and advertisements...not as comfy as before.At least the new ownership does offer better drink specials. (The old one super-skimped on the amount of alcohol in your drink!) They tasted like water. Now at least you get what you pay for! Fortunately one great thing carried over by management is their Karaoke hostess, Danielle...She keeps the house rockin' and can belt out the tunes with smokey flavors. A wide variety of customers for the non-pretentious. These are real people, folks...a delight. We come here to hang out and celebrate the beauty in being unique individuals that accept people for who they are! If you love artists like Tom Waits or Steve Earl...you will get the attraction to this place.

i really wanted to give this bar a 3.5. I had a great time. cheap drinks, great karaoke, love the dive atmosphere, but can we please get some separation between the fryers and the bar? My clothes reeked of animal fat the next morning, i thought i spent the night in the kitchen of a chinese buffet. and the bartenders give you the evil eye if you dont have a drink in front of you for longer than 30 seconds. with that said..i liked it, but could use a few improvements.

Um, the bar is WAY more laid back than it used to be. You obviously don't come there enough to have any opinion on that matter! They used to over serve bums till urine ran out of their pant legs, now they don't put up with that shit. So if THAT's what you mean by laid back....

this place is strange. from what I hear, i think i would have liked it better under the old ownership. it's got a great old country dive bar atmosphere (alot of deer antlers everywhere), but alot of hip-hop music playing. that said, on the few times i've been there, everyone has been really friendly and they do have some awesome chicken wings. and really cheap drink specials. so i'll definitely be going back.

If I could go lower than 1 I would. The Country Bar is probably the single-worst bar that I have been to in Minneapolis. Don't get me wrong, it could have been fun, but the "I'm way too cool to stop my conversation and acknowledge your presence" bartender and the disgusting fried-ass smell that permiates the place makes the "Country Bar" experience a huge MISS. Although after some thought, it occurred to me how much I hate hipsters, so maybe you should take what I say with a grain of "happy cloud."

I'm told now that the new owners will keep the format much the same, but they've fired some of the staff, and at least hired bigger, younger bouncers. I'm with Dani, on Karaoke night, get your buzz on elsewhere. Other nights, this is one of the best places in Uptown for drinking. Win, either way.

Hey,we're getting new owners in about a week and the slow bitchy bartenders are GONE! Woot woot! People who are in the know know to get drinks else where before they come in for karaoke, the draw of this place IS the fact that it's a run down shit hole with a melting pot of souls to mingle with. So if you don't like run down shit holes go somewhere else! It's not for the faint of heart or the bitch of face, so go suck down your drinks and judge somewhere else! We don't need y'all!
