New owners (summer 2007) have updated the space, the food, and the drinks, but have still kept the best parts of the place! Stub and Herbs is a college sports bar. They offer great specials and the chance to be part of a U of M tradition. Patrons are loyal and regular, if a bit hard to categorize. The music varies....last time I was there I heard a lot of Falin Quay (sp?), Bob Marley, and 80's. A true hipster hangout if that is regular.

There is seating both up and downstairs, as well as a good secluded spot in the back if you are on a quiet date. Service is good and bartenders are very nice. They have a couple of pool tables and most everyone is nice and chatty. They have Big-10 burgers (including a 1pounder) and cute waitresses. Come in a group or come alone, Stub's is close and friendly. THRIFTY TIP- in addition to the above happy hours, Stub & Herbs aslo features $2-3 Cocktails differing by the day with differnt call liquors.

This was the first bar I went to when I turned 21 and it was a lot of fun. I was a little hesitant to celebrate my birthday on campus because I can't stand bros and crowded bars, but I didn't have to deal with any of that. The bartender was incredibly friendly and gave me a free beer even though my birthday was on a Friday (not expected at all). The beer list is extensive and they have a decent TV set-up so I could watch the hockey game. I'll definitely be back!
