Sally’s Saloon was one of the first bars I’d ever been to, and therefore has a special place in my heart. Like any hard-core college place, Sally’s has its time and place only to be revisited in those reminiscent times in which we can relive our youth.
Sally’s is definitely one of the biggest and wildest bars on campus and is frequented by young students almost exclusively during non-game times. Sally’s is broken off mainly in 3 sections, a front bar with little seating beyond the actual bar, a patio in the summer, and a large game room. And the patrons here love the games. They have 6 pool tables, foosball, golden tee, and darts to keep you busy. Another good bar for watching the game, Sally’s has enthusiastic patrons, a big screen TV, and all the popcorn you can eat, just help yourself (although drink specials are sometimes different or null during these events). They usually have good specials and good tap selection; non-happy hour times drinks are about $5.
Music at Sally’s is usually picked by the staff and always changing. I’ve heard everything from blues grass to hip-hop. They sometimes have live music, bands or a DJ. Dress is casual or whatever you want. Worth a stop-over if you are on campus. They are also Miller Lite’s #1 client in the city so you know its gonna be packed!
Make sure and hit the patio this summer, its a large fenced in area umbrellaed and overlooking the busy campus action of Washington Avenue. "The Party's at Sally's!"
Free Parking: A few spots in their lot along Washington, otherwise free meters after 8pm.

It was an alright place. The atmosphere was okay, but had a few too many frat boys and their girlfriends. (This should have been a given to me because of the location, I know.) Our server was rather nice and attentive once she noticed us. And the prices were decent. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't amazing.

It's trashy and the waitresses want some coaxing, but the drinks are cheap and the food's not like Vincent but it's really good anyway.

Sally's used to be my favorite place to go on Wednesday nights, but now the service is ignorant, slow, and disrespectful when I just want a drink. I feel like a starving fat kid when I wait at the bar for one simple drink. And when they finally serve you... to put it nicely... they are complete a**holes. Go to this bar at your own risk.

I used to like Sally's when the service was better. Now, like a few other bars, you practically have to beg for a beer after midnight. The bartenders ignore you and the servers seem to think they should forget about their customers so they can fill their ketchup bottles and napkin holders so they can bolt the place as soon as possible. And what's with the people smoking pot out on the patio? That couldn't be good at liquor license renewal time if the cops ever came around/
