Palmers is a classic bar on the westbank, dimly lit, and suprisingly fun for people watching and cheap drinks. The crowd is older and blue-collar/unemployed/hippy/punk rock/ everything you would expect from the nieghborhood. A long wooden bar is lined with the regulars, the walls decked with old blues grass posters and large colorul paintings. Its small and smoky, but its one of the only places in the area where you can get a Hieneken on Tap.

I'm sick of people thinking Cedar/Riverside is dangerous, or calling the apartments "crack stacks". Palmer's is a good bar and has a nice mix of old timey respect and young ideas. Plus, there are other places in the area that are as awesome: Triple Rock, the Wienery, Acadia, the Nomad..

everything you've heard about the west bank's risk factor is a lame urban myth. if you want real people living epic lives, go to Palmer's, order a drink, sit on the patio and try to say hello to someone before they say hello to you.

Love this place. Fun bartenders. Strong drinks.. Strange company. Always a mix of the west bank demographic. Great place to get drunk and people watch... Then stumble over to hardtimes for some grub.

I stumbled in there with a buddy one night recently. How we weren't mugged and beaten by the crack stack inhabitants I'll never know. Anyhoo, the f'n place was great! best Sh!thole I've been too in a while! Have to come back some sunday night...
