The Nomad World Pub is a cool, small concert venue in the Twin Cities, replacing the much outdated, yet classic 5 Corners Saloon. They have jumped into the Minneapolis Music Scene full boar by booking, in their first year, some of the better concerts around.
The Nomad is new to Minneapolis (spring '05), finding its roots as a successful music venue in Milwaukee. They mostly play live music and/or have great games on the patio like lawn bowling and croquet (2 large patios). They also air international soccer games and encourage lively mingling of their guests. Our favorite part is the extensive beer list made up of delicious, yet incredibly rare and hard-to-find brews; over 20 varities on tap that make good on the claim "World Pub." Note: The Nomad Pub does not serve food, so make sure to get dinner beforehand!

"The only down side to this bar is that the neighborhood is completely different than that of uptown" For some of us, (ie those who loathe uptown), that's a major part of *why* we go to the Nomad. That and the delicious 2fer beers.

I had a really good time here. We went on a Monday, which turned out to be Trivia Night, unbeknown to us. The staff was really good: very friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. When we did ask for a drink that they hadn't heard of, we gave them the ingredient list, and got a perfect drink. The prices were pretty good and the atmosphere was fantastic. It's definitely a place for people with alternative lifestyles.

The two patios, with a fireplace on one, make it my favorite place to enjoy summer nights well into November. The happy hour on Monday kicks butt and the Wednesday night Bocce ball league is something that can't be beat. I mean, the ladies who play are all super cool and the atmosphere is hopping. Wednesdays are also Reggae night too so that makes it fun. The only down side to this bar is that the neighborhood is completely different than that of uptown but the patrons seem to reflect on the "World" part of Nomad World Pub. The environment inside changes too with a free, yes free pool table during the earlier part of the evening that is sometimes hid under the stage to make way for great local music. The beer that they have on tap is also reflective of what you'd drink out of the country. Overall this place is perfect for someone who's just passing through Minneapolis or who's looking to make some crazy friends. Yeah for the Nomad and I'll see you all at the Ruckus!!!

I remember when this used to be the Five Corners Bar. THURSDAY NIGHTS, SPACEHEATERS. I love music, and this bar.

Angela, I would check your bank account again. Most banks will authorize a charge from a restaurant or bar for the bill amount + 20% in order to make sure there are enough funds in the account in case you are to leave a proper tip. The amount on the card is then adjusted to whatever you wrote on the sign slip when the charge completely goes through (usually a few days later).
