Bullwinkles is located right on the University Westbank 7 corners area. It gives off the great feel of a small-town bar with friendly and chatty staff, old wood interior, stretched bar, and they even have all the popcorn you can eat.
Bullwinkles is a thin, long bar with a lofted balcony and low ceiling. This causes it to get pretty smoky when it’s busy, which is usually during game time. Despite the lack of a large big-screen TV, patrons flock during dome events and during important playoff games because of the fun atmosphere created for them. They also have a small patio set-up on the sidewalk.
Bullwinkles doesn’t really have any bar games and the music is chosen by the bartender who plays his favorite cd’s, usually Classic Rock and Pop favorites. Dress is very casual and the crowd is mixed between older regulars and college students. No dancing is done here, just serious drinking due to the large number of specials and normally cheap prices. If you are looking for a good time and meeting new people, I would check this place out. Keep in mind though that although it is a wild and great time, it can also be pretty low-key.
