2 out of 5 (from 83 users)The Wild Onion is a popular place on Grand Avenue and is frequented by a lot of the St. Thomas crowd. They have a large bar, big booths, and a small dancefloor. The inside is dim, and the walls are lined with bright portrait paintings.
The Wild Onion hosts dancing (Top 40) and drinking on the weekends. They utilize the concept of large portions, decent prices, and lends to a long night of over-consumption. The Wild Onion is a pretty safe bet for any night out in St. Paul if you are looking for large crowds.
Note: Weekend nights sometimes include a cover charge.
THRIFTY TIP- Get a buy-one get one free during your birthday week (wed). If you come on your birthday, get a free drink and a t-shirt.

Go on Tuesday the week of your birthday for all you can drink, otherwise avoid at all costs. Consistently the worst service in St. Paul. Drinks and food are alright, not worth the atmosphere or terrible service.
