The Wild Onion is a popular place on Grand Avenue and is frequented by a lot of the St. Thomas crowd. They have a large bar, big booths, and a small dancefloor. The inside is dim, and the walls are lined with bright portrait paintings.

The Wild Onion hosts dancing (Top 40) and drinking on the weekends. They utilize the concept of large portions, decent prices, and lends to a long night of over-consumption. The Wild Onion is a pretty safe bet for any night out in St. Paul if you are looking for large crowds.

Note: Weekend nights sometimes include a cover charge.

THRIFTY TIP- Get a buy-one get one free during your birthday week (wed). If you come on your birthday, get a free drink and a t-shirt.

This bar has out of control bouncers that are looking for ways to show their lack of intelligence through violence. The whole bar is powder keg ready to explode. Stay clear.

bouncers are complete assholes that look for trouble. in with st. paul pd which is corrupt as hell. would never go back. if i could rate lower, i would.

There's really no denying it. From what I've heard and seen, the bouncers look for ways to kick people out of this place. Not what I call conducive to a friendly atmosphere. There's a reason so many people have given the Wild Onion 1 star.

yeah, just blatantly RACIST!!!!! I went there with my African American grilfriend and as wwe were getting on the dance floor a waitress bumped into her and when my girlfriend said, excuse me the waitress got an attittude and told the bouncer she pusehd her. Y ou know what happened next. She was asked to leave. But, just like my baby, she gave them a piece of her mind and scared the shit out of them because hse is a law student and I am an attorney. By the way, they are owned by the same owners of Moose coutry bar in Mendota Heights which who are in the process of a racial and sexual discrimination law suit.
