Pop is bringing nightlife back in to downtown St. Paul. Enter doors through the Lawson Commons and you are instantly greeted by the brightly colored fun, modern atmosphere and upbeat 80’s hits guaranteed to make even the most wintered-in Minnesotan warm. Pop is fun, with large open spaces, windows, and kitchen you can see. The Restaurant features great food, starting with gourmet burgers and sandwiches (we recommend the pork asado, $9.50), but Pop also has pizza, pasta, and salad selections.
In contrast to Pop’s original Nordeast Minneapolis location, the bar is the feature in St. Paul. Pop has a friendly bar staff and huge bar that serves up 9 a long list of specialty cocktails, vodka infusions, specialty taps, and an extensive wine list (half off on Mondays). Pop is also developing a little night time scene with late night happy hour and weekly DJ shows.
Thrifty Tip: Always $3 Hamms taps, free parking in the Lawson Ramp

Went for Friday happy hour – good selection of beers for $3, food was tasty, but service was slow. The bartender was serving all the HH customers and filling orders for all dining room servers. HH specials only good in bar and tables up front by door. They validate parking in the Lawson Ramp next door – even during event parking (you have to pay upfront but will get money back on the way out if you ask for a stamp). Also, POP!! is not in Lowertown; which historically is anything below hill between Wabasha and Cedar. Now usually used to refer to places around Mears Park and the Farmers Market.

POP is bringing the nite life back to St Paul??? St Paul has NO nite life...unless you count the ghetto wonders at the bus stops harassing the residents of downtown...

This is a great spot in lowertown! Great sandwiches, cheap happy hour, and all the bright colors, it makes me feel happy to go in there. I'm not sure about the free parking though, when we went we couldn't get in to the ramp, maybe it was the wrong one?

quick comment: Not to be an ass or anything but POP in NE mpls is spelled POP! (with 1 exclamation) and POP!! in St Paul (has 2 exclamations). Other than that.. good spot. To Bad I have to drive all the way to St Paul to get beer at POP when i live a block from the other one. Upper NE needs a bar before I bike my fatass raw trying to find the closest pub that isnt in Saint Anthony
