I used to like going to the Halftime Rec and having a couple beers and maybe play some bocce ball. But, since these new owners took over, things have changed drastically. The new owners aren't very friendly and seems they could care less if you went to their place. I think there may have been some friends of theirs at the bar the night I was there, because we were avoided and given terrible service. At least I have my memories of a better Halftime Rec. I don't know who the owners are now, but they are TERRIBLE!!!!!! Stay away and consider another place to go. This isn't the place for you. Trust me

Half Time is under new ownership, and they have a lot of kinks to work out. They advertise two-for-one specials from 7:00-9:00 but was told by the owner that they don't do it on event nights. I was there for an event night and it consisted of a guy on stage with an acoustic guitar and about 7 people watching. The new owners have also shut down the back patio so they can park their pickup. The weekends now have two bouncers wearing security vests. What was once a nice, neighborhood bar, Half Time has turned into a complete mess.

Without a doubt the best bar, probably in minnesota. If you are going out do not bother with any other place. Make it The Half Time.

Love the neighborhood bar. Great atmosphere, but that bald headed bartender is one of the biggest douches I have ever came across. I have never tried to avoid a bartender, until I met this idiot.

If you didn't know - Half Time Rec is back to Irish music....and it's back in full swing. The parking lot that used to be empty is now pretty much full again. Other changes to note - the drinks are still stiff, Moon still sits in the corner, Swamper still gives you crap unless you love the Wild like he does - and my hubby works the door a few times a month -the change? A free drink ticket between 8-9 I believe? or 8-10 when you have pay cover. Its still local as local get. If you go there often enough, they'll treat you like family...just like any other good bar.
