Billy’s on Grand is a long-time night tradition for St. Thomas students. During the day it is visited by a mixed crowd who come especially for its patio, the biggest and one of the nicest on Grand Avenue. The menu is typical bar burgers and sandwiches ($8 avg.). They also have the standard 12 taps of most bars. Inside, Billy’s is a large, multi-roomed and multi-barred typical sports bar. They never have live music, but also never a cover. The crowd is typically 21-30 and varies by the specific room. Music is a Jukebox and could be described as “Cities 97�-like. The back has 4 pool tables, 5 dart boards, and other video games like Golden Tee, Buck Hunter, etc.



Any game is great here because there will always be crowds, cheering, and great views of the TV’s. Billy’s is a “safe-bet� for going out in St. Paul because it is always busy and decent.

Another "trendy" Grand Ave. waste of time. Even though it's the closest bar to my apartment I refuse to go.

Me and my girlfriend went to Billy's for a couple after work happy hour cocktails and to hang out with the aging "regular" clientele. Drinks were tasty and fairly priced. My only gripe was that I had to put with this old drunk bastard hitting on my girl for half of an hour, turns out this drunk-ass is the owner "Billy" himself! Drunk at 6? Good business sense. I tolerate this for a bit, then this old sot proceeds to launch into a racist diatribe about "ni**ers and ch**ks." Real classy. Oh, and he gave my girl a Billys t-shirt! Thanks "Billy", but I think I would rather wear a swastika armband. Billy's is a great place to go watch a sporting event if you can see the tvs through you Klan hoods. And if its owner didn't drink all the booze.

Hey Ashley, maybe you and your friends could just stick to drinking in the 'burbs at great places like Friday's since the service is so much better there. If you can't handle the city, maybe YOU should just stay home and play bartender.

Went to Billy's and had a couple of warm beers from the hot bartender, then got kicked out because I told the bartender her butt looked nice. Which apparently is not a compliment anymore. Bouncers then proceeded to manhandle my friend and I to get us out,

A surfer on acid IS a brownish shot not blue...jag, malibu, and pineapple. You would think a server at Fridays should know that Ashley. Also, an Alabama Slammer is a shot unless you order otherwise. Thank God you aren't a bartender.
