Billy’s on Grand is a long-time night tradition for St. Thomas students. During the day it is visited by a mixed crowd who come especially for its patio, the biggest and one of the nicest on Grand Avenue. The menu is typical bar burgers and sandwiches ($8 avg.). They also have the standard 12 taps of most bars.

Inside, Billy’s is a large, multi-roomed and multi-barred typical sports bar. They never have live music, but also never a cover. The crowd is typically 21-30 and varies by the specific room. Music is a Jukebox and could be described as “Cities 97�?-like. The back has 4 pool tables, 5 dart boards, and other video games like Golden Tee, Buck Hunter, etc.

Any game is great here because there will always be crowds, cheering, and great views of the TV’s. Billy’s is a “safe-bet�? for going out in St. Paul because it is always busy and decent.

Billy's has an awesome Packer Room. Great prices during the game, food is pretty good also.

I used to like this bar the dozen or so times I went there, until I had to overhear a drunk racist rant put on by the 70 year old owner, who I assume is Billy, who doesn't like foreigners or black people. I was with three other people and we were so disgusted that we had to leave along with other tables around us. I feel pity for the people that have to work with this drunk old man.

And by the way, the MORON who complained about a bouncer not letting his idiot girlfriend in with a clipped ID - you obviously know nothing about the industry. That bartender could be fired, and the bar fined up to $2000 for letting your IDIOT girlfriend in to drink. If you want to go somewhere for some dinner & drinks, get a real ID. Moron.

The fact that an employee posted such an ignorant comment as the one below is enough for me. I'll take my money elsewhere. Hey Ashley, maybe you and your friends could just stick to drinking in the 'burbs at great places like Friday's since the service is so much better there.
