Hammond B-3 organ lovers have been flocking to the AQ on Tuesday nights for over a decade to get a soulful dose of funky jazz. The Tuesday Night Band features "Downtown" Bill Brown (Hammond B-3), Billy Franze (guitar), and Kenny Horst (drums) + guests! Anything can happen - and frequently does.

A sweet underground jazz club in St. Paul is dim lit, having the walls lined with old photos of the classic music greats. On of the most comfortable and inviting spots in downtown, the Artist's Quarter is home to lots of national jazz/blues acts (weekends) and wild open mic/local nights Mondays-Wednesdays. All nights carry a cover, but its usually based on the show and for the band, so at least its worth it. The AQ is a great place to take a date and show her how cool you think you are.

Best place to hear great jazz Tuesday through Saturday and open mic beat poetry on Mondays. Low covers, cheap drinks and friendly staff. Subterranean, dark and cozy. No pretense but plenty of atmosphere. Everything a jazz club should be. This is where musicians hang out.

Great music, cheap cover, good people, strong drinks. Don't go there...it's my spot.

I came upon this place, and man am I glad I did. Incredible music performed and presented with class and passion. The bartenders are cool, as someone mentioned the doorman is the coolest and the drinks are strong and of value. Not a real big jazz fan normally, but I was completely into it when I went to this place.
