Though it's a new addition to Downtown St. Paul's revamped "foodie" landscape, the American Burger Bar already feels like a classic. The owners have turned the former Matty-B's location into a gourmet American pub-style paradise. Though the interior drips of luxury, the Happy Hour prices are more reminiscent of a dive bar. Three sliders (that's Shrimp, Angus, Kobe) are only $6, a half dozen wings are only $3. If your downtown and want something delicious, filling, and on the cheap, check this place out.Kitchen: Su-Th: Burger until 10pm, Appetizers until 11pm (11pm/12am respectively on Fr-Sa)

Parking Validated after 4pm at the Victory Parking Ramp, $2

Thrifty Tip: Free Pool on an excellent table and $3 PBR Tall Boys, all the time!

Great burgers! Happy Hour is a great value. The ribeye splitters are worth fighting for ( we split the appetizers with friends- I'm not condoning fighting ) Friendly people, can't remember the servers name but alot of fun!

Really good food, but not much diversity in the menu. The decor is fantastic, but dark! I'm looking forward to some cozy nights here this winter by the fireplace. Happy Hour at 10:30 every night!

I loved it, but it was a little too chill. The food was great, but you would die of a heart attack if you ate here every day!

Great burgers, I don't think they've changed the decor much since Matty B's, but I wouldn't bother, the space is beutifual and the happy hour is top notch. I'd like to see more taps, but the huge ribeye for $7 is the best deal in St. Paul.
