Great food, great drinks, great staff. This retro diner is helping to revitalize the East Lake area. What is the best part about the Town Talk Diner? Despite widespread awards, Food Network appearances, and lots of great patron feedback, we still have to wonder, what makes the Town Talk great?
The Drinks? Made by award-winning career bartenders that can tailor a cocktail to any pallet. The feature adult shakes and malts.
The Food? Dedicated chefs with ties to many of the fine dining establishments in Minneapolis provide a gourmet slant to traditional diner food. Popular brunches, excellent burgers, and decadent deserts. Many specials prepared daily all for around $8-14/plate.
The Staff? Possibly the best part of the Town Talk, the staff are probably the best and friendliest (easily the best if cumulative) in the city.
Now open for lunch! Stop in soon, you'll be back every weekend after.

The staff is awesome. The food is awesome. The front bar is awesome. Little spendy but otherwise awesome.

They have late night happy hour now from 10-midnight. They also put some tasty small plates on their hh menu. I would go here anytime. The bar staff is really friendly and funny too. I sometimes feel like I'm at a comedy club when I'm there.

The only reason this is not a 5 is the uncomfortable waiting experience in such a small space, especially in the winter! If you dislike trendy, then you'll hate this place. The owners have taken this historic breakfast counter dive & transformed it into a hipster joint with a pretentious mix of comfortable junk food & snazzy dinner entrees. Bacon-wrapped Hot-dawg with cheese? Pabst in a massive can? Kitchen sink sauce? I dig the schtick. I always seem to get the burger cuz its so good & love the garlic/lemon zest mayo. The adult malts are super tasty. This does NOT meet the definition of THRIFTY, but this spot is certainly all HIPSTER.

Pretentious. Average food at above average prices. My onion rings came incrementally stacked like a Fischer-Price toy. Cute, but the onion rings were awful.
