Epic Fail. It took a 1/2 hour just to order, and we had reservations. It took us another hour to get our food. My date's food was cold. Couldn't complain since the waitress never came back. Had to go bar to get bill. Said we were unhappy but received no recompense. I love Merlin's. This was bad; unhappy girlfriend on Valentines Day not good.

I love this place! it has an authentic traditional Irish/British Isles atmosphere. best scotch selection in town at the best prices. food can be great some nights it falls a little short (maybe depends on who's cookin?) breakfast is tasty and GENEROUS helpings. Love to chat it up with Bill the "minister of culture" he's a delightful Irish chap with a gift for story telling. slante!

Great selection of taps and Scotches. One of the few places to carry Bellhaven's Scotch ale on tap. Food represents the British Isles well and is rather good. The live music is usually really outstanding. Best thing to hit east lake street in decades.
