McMahon's Pub is a Faux-Irish bar with a blues theme. Booths, hig-top tables, and a remodeled interior that almost rid the place of the Poodle's cigarette smells. Dim lighting make it causal.
The food is classic Irish fair; burgers, fish and chips, stews.
They have a game room with billiards, TV's for the game, pull tabs... oh yeah, and a large dance floor where you can move to the sounds of the Irish Blues; Live music most nights.
Editorial Comment: Ok, we've NEVER done this, but the way that McMahon's swore at our staff, threatened us, was disrespectful, hung up on us, and acted over $300 makes us really think their management are petty and cheap. Would you want to give your money to people like that? The fact is, they signed a contract with thriftyhipster.com, which lets bars advertise for as little as $100/month (or like 1-2 tables of tabs). This money is what keeps thriftyhipster.com going and updated as a service to everyone trying to find great happy hours! If you support ThriftyHipster.com, go to businesses that appreciate all of your patronage. Check out the Town Talk, some of the greatest bar staff ever and INCREDIBLE food, or the Rail Station, with a great patio and hearty portions for less money.

Wow, reading thw above reviews, I would'nt know that I was in the McMahon's that they are talking about. I wanted to comment on the Karaoke gall there. I Love Karaoke and go all over Mpls. She laughs and talks with everybody. She makes you sound awesome and doesn't pull the normal BS when wanting to sing. You need to stop in! The staff was wonderfull and welcomed out group with smiling staff and drinks. The cost is the same down here. You need to check this place out and if you love to sing, Come in with our group on Tuesday nights. V

wheres the old Poodle with a real freindly feel, this place is for the owners enjoyment not anyone elses/ it's a joke

I was the only girl there with a dozen or so pathetic boozers. I waited for my friend and left when she came. Staff was more interested in schmoozing than serving. Unnerving atmosphere and an undercurrent of ugliness. Run, don't walk away from this establishment.
