Jakeeno’s Pizza, placed right in the middle of South Minneapolis (and coincidentally the neighborhood this writer grew up in), has definitely been around for a while (since 1975 to be exact). You want pizza? You want damn good pizza? You want a lot of varieties with your pizza? If you said yes to all of those very rhetorical questions, then Jakeeno’s is definitely worth checking out. Sporting matching uniforms, there is a very friendly staff ready to serve you essentially any kind of pizza you may want, ranging from basic cheese pizza to barbeque chicken pizza. Not only that, they feature pasta options, so one cannot get much more Italian-infused food than that. A family owned and operated business, Jakeeno’s also has a delivery option (assuming you live within the South Minneapolis sphere, of course) and has pretty good prices, especially for it being a family owned and operated business. As said before: if you answered yes to those questions, then give Jakeeno’s a try.

Lived in the neighborhood for 20 years and ordered from Jakeenos a few times a month. Never once had even close to a bad pizza. Always consistently great food. Try the provolone toast! The drivers are always friendly and the service is always prompt. They just updated the patio; it's shady and wonderful in the summer. I've been telling friends all over the metro area about this place forever. The owner even thanked my family for introducing some "Wayzata yuppies" to Jakeenos. We brought Jakeenos to a pot luck in Wayzata and people fell in love. Apparently there had been a migration of Range Rover driving patrons to 36th and Chicago just for the pizza. Love it!

Best Pizza hands down for thin crust lovers. All of their food is great. It has to be the sauce. Homemade and delicious. Cops eat there yes. Cops eat out a lot. think about it. They know what's good, it's not about free handouts. I'm moving soon and it will be missed.

This restaurant has been around forever but it has much better food as of late. The pizza and pasta are both fantastic! Great place to take a date.
