Fat Lorenzos is a small brightly mural-colored and large-portioned Italian eatery. Its been around a long time becuase they have great pizzas and hoagies at a reasonable price. They also have a large beer selection and $2-3 house wine.

At first glance, Fat Lorenzo's seems almost out of place right off Cedar before it turns into the tumultuous 77, but a closer look reveals what a fine culinary find this iconic Southy hold-over truly is. Should you find yourself in the mood to eat without spending much, I recommend the Stromboli. Sure, it's an appetizer, but split 'tween yourself and a date it's plenty filling and won't hit your wallet. And if the Stromboli isn't enough for you, tack on a slice of pizza. Either way, the meal will run you less than $20 with a beverage purchase.

Although it is known for the pizza, I really don't like a big sloppy mess when I am in the mood for pizza. I love this place because of the hoagies! Salads are great too! You will not be disappointed with either of those choices. The pasta is very bland.

Would actually give it a 3.5. Good portions, good prices - pizza is okay and it's a nice neighborhood place. By the slice is better than a whole pie...
