Dim lit and inviting, the service and the food, hip and stylish; everything combines perfectly to make Café Maude one of the best spots in Southwest Minneapolis. Trendy groups of 30-50 year old professionals fill the tables and booths nightly. A large bar is at the center of the room (specializing in great martini concoctions), and it is surrounded by diners. There is also a small stage set up for jazz trios, which play on the weekends and some week days.
Cafe Maude's menu is small (4-5 options in each category), but everything on it is a winner. The Carpaccio/Beet Appetizer ($9) was incredible and everything else we ordered was flavorful and delicate. Cafe Maude's wine list is also a feature and there are many bottle options at $20-26.
Reservations strongly recommended.

We have hoped this place would be good. But, just like the other review we have found the service at this place to be rude. The management does not care at all. Food is okay but not worth dealing with bad service. Go to Blackbird or Borders much better

My food was amazing, martini was great, music by Jeff Buckley, awesome but the SERVICE was so bad it was insulting. If I expect to leave a restaurant down $150 I'd at least expect okay service. Sad to say I'm not sure when I will go back here. I emailed the manager of the restaurant, and no, not asking for my $ back, just to simply express how rude the service was and received no response. Good thing mpls has many other great places to offer!!

Great dining & drink menus. Atmosphere is good for dinner for 2 or for a mid-size group. Room gets a little loud... (w/o any performances) but it's a good vibe. Friendly staff, too! Bonus: they honor the MPR- Member Connect card.
