Whitey's makes the best greyhound in all of Minneapolis. They fresh-squeeze their grapefruit juice when you order it. Unbelievably good.

I generally LOVE Whitey's, and would easily give it 5 stars, except they need to fire one particular waitress. We have had her twice, the first time with a group of 8. She refused to bring us more than 5 menus, took our drink order after we'd sat for 20 minutes, got us our drinks another 20 minutes later - and never came back to take our dinner orders. After about 45 minutes (after we had our drinks), my brother went up to her to ask her to take our orders and she informed him that she was too f-ing busy to do so. I went back on a night when it was almost empty, with only one other person, and she was almost as bad - she did take our orders, but NEVER came back, except to drop of the check (but NOT clear our plates) about 1/2 an hour after we finished eating - and about an hour after we finished our first (and only, due to lack of her asking) beers.

Whitey's has amazing food and a solid staff. The sirloin salad, turkey burger and chicken quesadilla are delicious. The bartenders and waitresses are friendly albeit no-nonsense. As a neighborhood, no-frills restaurant, the atmosphere is casual and friendly. I recommend Whitey's to everyone I know.
