This bar reserves the right to refuse service to GLBT folks. I went there on a Sunday evening recently with my girlfriend and we sat there for a very long time while the bartender completely ignored us and my $20 bill waiving in the air and just tried to make conversation with the maybe 6 other patrons there in order to keep his attention averted. When we finally gave up and decided we didn't want to be in a place like that, we were sarcastically heckled by a loud mouth patron on our way out the door after not being served. I wouldn't recommend this bar to anyone.

tried to go here the other night at 1. the lights were on, there were about 7 or 8 regulars in the place with full drinks, the bartender told us they were closed. didn't really look like they were doing any closing down work/cleaning. take that as you will.

The Best BarBuger and good nightly food specials. Ribs, tacos and steaks are great. Good music. Changes to the interior coming along good!

Another boring bar in northeast. I gave them a 2 because they are at least trying to make a comfortable atmostphere. They had a band playing but the pictures and instruments screwed into the wall makes me think of a cheap applebees. Unlike the Vegas Lounge and the Knight Cap I wasn't depressed upon leaving. I say depressed because if you go to 3 out of 5 bars in NE the population is generally 40-60 year olds drinking themselves into oblivion. Also the taplines need to be cleaned because my beer tasted like hell.

Not a bad place to go in general. Avoid the owners if at all possible. Mean people. The drink specials are rarely advertised but good if you can figure them out, no food other then greasy meat but it is tasty, and the same bands playing the same blues/rock covers over and over again.

This place was much better as the Sun Saloon. The atmosphere has changed, the specials are basically non existant and the owner and servers are not Nordeast friendly.

Definitely a dive...dingy, slow service, awful food. for example: nachos are literally tortilla chips served with salsa straight from a jar... the fried mushrooms have 0 taste...i could go on. their specials have changed too--there's no $2 St. Paulie Girl on Fri/Sat. no dart board that i could see. patio is hardly large (although they do use solar-powerered patio lights, which is cool).

Awesome food, great bartender, above average people watching and some occasional greatness on stage. It is definitely a dive bar so the "ambiance" is a bit lacking but they more than make up for it with character and the food (wings are top notch and flat top burgers that are to die for)!

This is a great, classic NE Bar - great food, great music, great drinks and the best people. And the SHAW Burger is the best in the world (no kidding), gives me reason to live!

This is possibly the greatest bar in America. Good drinks, GREAT people and out-of-this-world open jam nights. The food is bar food at its finest and the owner is one of the nicest - but smart-assiest guys you'll ever meet. I recommend it to anyone who doesn't care about where they are but just loves to enjoy what's happening around them.

Lets get this off our chest first. This is a dive bar in the classic sense. Worn out booths, worn out floors, worn out walls. You know what... who cares! The food here was 1st rate for burgers. The person who served us was extremely nice and attentive. Fun people watching. God I love North East!!!!

monday night jam sitting enjoying the music from some of the best musicians in town, and who sits in the band "deric trucks" from the allman bros band. cant say much more than the frick'en place rocks..........

Love, love, love this joint. Cheap, tasty eats, the friendliest of bartenders and servers, daily booze and food specials and a meat raffle every week. Gotta Love It!

I drink here b/c it is within stumbling distance. It has a certain charm. Dirty, worn down, rough, yet the food is terrific, there is often live music, and bar tenders are friendly chaps.

i like shaws becaue the music is a the top. for a chiago style, blues, road house venue. from national recording arist, shannon curfman to san fransiscos, badest guitar player maxx cabello. a lot of top musicians hang there.the owner knows a lot of musians. you never know who poping in. plus the food is great. you should ck# out the mondays nite jam. last week james cotton band played wow..........

the food is excellant. the drinks are a great price and the bar has a very "homey" and comfortable feeling to eat. the staff are great,very friendly.
