"Spicing up old St. Anthony Main..."
This elegant new Nuevo Latino lounge is a great addition to St. Anthony Main. Bringing a little youth, dancing, and fun to the area, Picosa has a large, long bar with fun specialty cocktails, unique foods, and bumping sound system, small dance floor, and outgoing staff.
The interior is large and open with high ceilings and nice woodwork surrounding the large bar area. There is also a side area with booths and tables for dining. At night, this area is sectioned off to allow for more activity. Of course, it also has a large (dog-friendly) patio facing the river; an excellent spot for the summer which opens by large glass doors so no matter where you're sitting it feels like you're outdoors.
Food is South American cuisine, playing on unique blends of spices and adding flair to traditional dishes. Favorites entres ($16-20) are the Tomatillo Pork, skirt steak, octopus salad, but there is also a wide range of seafood selections and excellent appetizers. Picosa is a great spot to be whether you want to come early and join the older patrons for dining or if you want to come later for the younger crowd and dancing, Picosa really should have what you're looking for.

the drinks were amazing! Happy hour has great prices too. Really nice view of Minneapolis, good looking staff, good service ( at least for me ) I gave it 4 out of 5 because to me it could have been spiced up some more, after all isn't that what Picosa means.

I was very excited to find this neat looking place with a fun atmosphere in my new neighborhood. Dinner: Upon my first visit I ordered a shrimp and scallops meal. Once the food arrived I noticed there were no scallops on my plate. Only after asking about the missing scallops did my waitress tell me that the chief "sends his apology, they ran out of scallops and he added extra shrimp to my plate to make up for it." I was asked if I wanted even more shrimp for the mix-up. I have to say the missing scallops bummed me out as I love scallops and it was the main reason for ordering the dish. Overall our meals (there were four of us) were very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Willing to ignore one mistake, and a bad waitress, I visited again for happy hour. Happy Hour: There were two of us. We ordered drinks, empanadas and tacos. The drinks were awful and we left them half full (note: We are not picky drinkers, especially at Happy Hour prices). The tacos were flavorless and the empanadas tasted like greasy chicken fingers with unidentifiable meat shoved inside. We pretty much ran out of there and still can’t shake the disappointment. Service: Very bad. Comment is already to long to explain.

According to the website, the $1 tacos are only on Tuesday & Thursday. The tacos are the main reason I went there on Fridays. I guess I'll have to find somewhere else to get cheap food for happy hour.

Haven't been at night yet, but my work friends and I are adding this to our weekly lunch meetings! Its only $7 for a salad, taco, seafood bar with fried plantains, roasted meats, fresh fruit, free drinks; quite a lunch buffet is all I'm saying!

$1 tacos Mon- Fri (until 7) on the patio! Very, very good! Great drinks and a great view! (don't get this place confused with Pracna on Main)
