The prices at Kikugawa can be considered a little steep by some, but remember: it’s pretty high class Japanese restaurant on the Saint Anthony Main parkway. Yes, true, going there for dinner may not be kind to one’s wallet, but this is authentic Japanese food. This seems like an overused phrase (I suppose it is), but it could not be made up when referring to Kikugawa, especially keeping in mind that we live in the Twin Cities. This, of course as it should be obvious by this point in the description, is less of a bar and more of a restaurant, so keep that mind as well, though I somehow doubt many people will be going to Kikugawa for its drink specials. The wait staff is considered friendly and efficient, the food (especially the sushi) is considered phenomenal by many, and the crowd and atmosphere appears to be consistently low-key. If you have the cash (or an insatiable enough desire for Japanese cuisine).

This is the best Sushi Place in Minneapolis, and one of the best in the country. I have had Sushi at some of the most high end places in Chicago where I'm from and Kikugawa blows them away. The quality of the food is fabulous, service is impeccable. Yes better than the trendy Origame, Nomi, etc...Kikugawa has better sushi believe it or not at some of those West Coast places. Imagine that. The greatnest goes to the best and only Chef Junior.

I have been to Kikugawa many times for sushi. It is a little spendy; however, in my opinion, is the best in town. I have tried pretty much every restaurant with a sushi bar in the area as well. I will be going back again and would suggest it to anyone/everyone!

This restaurant is very deceiving. those of us who have had authentic japanese food was just appaled by the food served. we ordered the kaiseki meal, which is a sign of an authentic japanese rastauarnt, and our experience was horrible, b/c they served us a course meal with stuff that was already available. what made it worse was that, the steak was rubbery, and usually the food they gave us did not have any sophistication that you would normally find in a kaiseki meal. the sushi was o.k., but good sushi, is not just about the fish, but also the rice. we were extremely disappointed! the service is good, but the food is not at par with the prices they ask for. we expect more for what we're paying

Best sushi in the Twin Cities! This is the only japanese place where i enjoy the miso and they have the best variety of sushi, worth every penny! I only rate restaurants on the quality of the food and the scale of the prices, so it gets a 5, but if i were one of those critics that rates a restaurant by food AND service, this place gets a 2. Although the servers aren't very attentive, they are always nice and try their best to please.
