Ground Zero is famous for its Bondage-A-go-go night. A great experiment for anyone interested in lite S&M. Get tied up and worked on by multiple dominatirices for free (tip is required and about $20). Its worth checking out. The music is usually pretty hardcore for these nites, but they also play alot of dance music. Come see why this club has survived for so many years.
If you get tired of dancing, head to the back and shoot some pool. The bouncers here are friendly, but don't take any crap. Normal prices are a bit expensive, but you are paying for atmosphere....something Ground Zero sure isn't lacking in. Just think of the great underground feeling that you get while patronizing a rave... Well, ground zero's ample chain linked fences and cage dancing sure help to bring you back (if that was once your thing).
THRIFTY TIP- DON'T park in the Surdyks lot, you will be towed. There are meters along the street a few blocks away that are free after 10pm, but are only .50 / hour.
FREE Cover Thursdays & Fridays.

I've been coming to GZ for over a year now, and I have to say that those of you who believe the regulars at GZ are closed minded. It's definitely not the case. Yes, the typical scene is more darkwave/industrial/goth, but nobody cares what you wear. The dance floor is so laid back, you don't have to be a good dancer or wear any certain attire to have fun there. The bondage shows are NOT staged, compared to what some reviewers have said, and they're part of the scene. If you walk into GZ wearing plaid shorts and an Abercrombie t-shirt or a high class business suit, nobody cares. Can anyone tell me about any local hip hop club that is that laid back? I didn't think so. GZ is a great place to enjoy the music, have a couple drinks, and enjoy the nightlife.

sure, there are alot of idiot goth drones at GZ - but every club has it's drones. alot of them are really nice if they let you get to know them. I say you get what you give - if you are friendly, open-minded, and can ignore a few idiots, you will have a good time. if you are looking for things to complain about, you will find those also. it's all about attitude. that said, GZ is one of the few clubs in town that hosts EBM/Industrial concerts, and for that i am grateful. though the concerts are few and very far-between, i've seen some killer shows there. VNV Nation, Covenant, And One, etc. good stuff. i just wish they attracted more bands.

Never being one to fit in, I figured I'd start going to Zero. Well you'd think people here would be a little more open-minded and accepting of people. Definitely NOT the case! People here not only have a dress code, they all wear the same damn color; black! It just seems so damn pretentious. All these people who try so hard to be "different" just end up looking like little clones to me. Every time I go to Ground Zero some poser-ass "goth" kid makes some comment trying to rip on me because apparently I don't look "goth" enough. Aside from that, the music is hit and miss depending on the night. There are fun events like Rubberball and the vampire fashion show coming up. Great place to see good industrial bands. Too bad the majority of patrons here are even more fake and superficial than the top 40 club-goers.

Very cool place...I like to get what I pay for and nitro-glycerine long islands are the bomb ;-) Music is awesome especially in the Front the bartender who also carded us was great a full of fun and personality. Bouncers...since I am one and have been one for over 15 years, there is no excuse not to be at least approachable...you draw more flies with honey than vinegar, however you r hard work and vigilance can not be reproached. Thanks for all these years Ground Zero/Front!
