A nice dining experience and chill place to hang out. Its upscale for northeast, but near the Jax Cafe which is also upscale. They currently have live music on Friday and Saturday nights, mostly jazz and lounge bands. Recent City Pages winner for "Best Steakhouse on a Budget."

We dined at Erte a couple of weeks ago and had a fabulous experience! The food, service, and music were incredible. It's the best value around as far as we're concerned. We normally don't write reviews but were compelled to after seeing "Former Server's" review. We saw this review a year ago on a different site and the person is still bent out of shape by reposting it here. Obviously the person has nothing better to do then rehash the past. Why butterfly a steak it ruins the flavor and they'll be over cooked. We had steak, walleye, and the saltimbocca and they were all delicious. By the way, now that we're looking at these reveiws, who writes one on Christmas Eve just before midnight.."northeaster eater"?

The food was good. The service was not, The waitress was nice, but slow. We were there on a Saturday night, and everything took very long. I sat for a long time with nothing to drink and the waitress rarely stopped by. It was mainly because she had more tables than she could handle. I asked to have my leftovers boxed up and she ended up losing them. They did give me a buy one get one card though.

Literally the worst restaurant experience in my life. Server was nice enough, but the manager must have been getting it from all corners!! My friend and I ended up getting yelled at for sending back a steak that wasn't cooked even close to medium and then were not only ridiculed for having originally asked that it be butterfly-cut (which it wasn't when it arrived to the table... would've been 'fine' had the server told us that the kitchen wouldn't do it...), but for having the audacity to try to use a Happenings card to get the listed discount. Funny thing is that even though were told that they would no longer "do the Happenings thing", they still have an add in the new book, with an offered dicount. Oh, and the chicken saltimbocca was literally the blandest chicken dish that I have ever eaten! (There's definitely a misprint in the menu where it says that it'll leave your mouth dancing...) This was supposed to be a special birthday dinner. It ended up being an embarrassment. Be VERY wary of trying to 'special' evening there...

My all time favorite restaurant. Can't figure out where northeaster eater and Mpls diner ate ... I've never had anything but WONDERFUL food and great service here.

Great restaurant in NE. They have good mix of food and patrons. I don't think anyone would feel out of place. Big bottled beer selection, reasonably priced wine, and the drinks are always stiff.
