Don't go here. Overpriced and overhyped. Staff is rude, drinks are weak. But hey if your idea of a good time is paying too much to hang out with every annoying bachelorette party in the city, maybe this is the place for you....

The least pretentious and happiest bar in the Twin Cities. Great first date spot and the talent there is incredible. Check it out, you will go back.

This place is a BLAST! I didn't know that we had one of these bars here. I have been to one in Vegas, and one in Orlando, Shout is WAY better!

We just discovered this place, it totally ROCKS. The music is great, the piaon players are a RIOT. This place is far and away the most fun bar ever in the state of Minnesota. It belongs in the MN Bar Hall of Fame, (don't know if there is such a thing but there should be).

Far and away the must fun bar in the Twin Cities. Great place to people watch, been there 4 or 5 times, and always something differant, with one common theme, Big Fun!

wednesday is the best and only night to go! but unlike the description, there IS a cover after 9pm unless you dress up in 80's garb. $1 highlife $1 vodka redbull after 9, and always packed.
-- tiffany4eva gave this bar a 4 out of 5 at 14:05 11.26.08
Stay away from this place on a Saturday night. 8 dollar cover, no drinks under 4 dollars, and tons of fat old people. I can see how this place could be fun, compared to paying the babysitter and driving your kids to hockey practice.

hey kim what kind of idiot are you??? If you come to a restaurant or bar expect 1 check or ask for seperate checks and in return expect a pissed off and slow server.

Had a suprise party here for my husband's birthday a few months ago. We had several friends and family there. Although we had a great time, I still rate this place low because when we received our bill at the end of the night the waitress had put everyone's drinks on our tab, making it a huge hassle for us as the bill came to over $300. Bottom line - fun place, but if you go with a group of people make sure the waitress doesn't pull something like that just to make her job easier.

Great place! It's a truly unique experience that I'm sure to take any visitor to the Twin Cities who wants to go downtown to some place "different." They have incredibly talented musicians who (unlike Jesse's comment) aren't affraid to get off-color or make a bachelorette blush on stage. They have pricey shots and mixers, but they do have the "Big Ass" beer for $8 and $6 refills of Miller Taps ANND you get to keep the cup with a printed hairy ass on it--it's a great conversation piece for when mom comes to visit. If you ever want to get people fired up, request your college's song on a busy night. I once saw a guy pay $40 for his alma matter (Miami?) to stop the U's.

Over priced and too clean of lyrics for this guy. Bring back Lil' Ditty's, or at least their performers. Lame
-- Jesse gave this bar a 1 out of 5 at 09:05 06.03.08
Just a thought, but maybe you should have brought your passport... Then you could have reviewed the bar, rather than blamed the bar for your ill-prepared evening.

I had the unfortunate experience last night of having organised to meet friends at this place, having flown in from Europe to celebrate my 30th birthday. My girlfriend and I didn't even get in the door because I didn't have my passport with me, despite having a European drivers license, residence card and various other forms of ID. We asked to see the manager but the security guy at the door claimed to *be* the manager so we phoned them hoping the real manager might be more sensible, but no - no passport, no entry. We tried the brewery next door but they had some lame excuse for closing the kitchen early so we ended up across the road at Hennessy's Irish Pub which wasn't bad. In any case we got a quick look inside and it looked very ordinary. Even if I had my passport I would have reservations showing it to them, and I really don't think I'd bother because San Diego has plenty of better establishments. Summary: Don't waste your time.

this is a one time kind of place for me. i don't have the patience for multiple billy joel medleys, but it was pretty fun. one weird thing happened - people actually lined up single file at the bar to get drinks. i took a picture.

This bar employs some of the finest bartender stock in all of the Twin Cities. Not one of them is lacking in customer service, expedience, or knowledge. Just watch them some time, the busier the bar gets, the faster they work, it's just amazing. I recognize a few of them from previous places they've worked. If any bar is so packed it becomes standing-room-only your best bet is to get up to the bar instead of making a cocktailer hoof all over for your ungrateful patronage. As far as the under 25 crowd, well, I'd have to agree if you're going in on a Wednesday night. However, try getting in on a Saturday and you'll see people of all ages. Each night at the Shout is a different experience.

Most excellent if you're under 25 and don't plan to stay sober. The vodka-redbull special is your first clue. :)
-- ABC gave this bar a 3 out of 5 at 20:22 03.29.08
This place sucks... takes for ever to get a drink. then you cant find your server to get more drinks or close out. Ended up leaving to go somewhere that I can actually get service. Checked my credit card the next day and they overcharged me $6, when I only had 2 of the $1 vodka redbulls. WTF?
-- Nick gave this bar a 1 out of 5 at 19:14 01.30.08
Are you kidding me? I loves the shout! Whether it be on a Wednesday or a Friday I always find a different assortment of people to sing/chill/look at:) and every one that works there is always nice...unless you're like my friend who got kicked out last wednesdAy:#)

Absolutely the best place for any size group or occasion. Service is excellent every time I come. Cheerful waitstaff, talented musicians, fantastic bartenders. I've worked in high-volume clubs most of my life and I have pretty high standards. This bar staff is one of the tightest and hardest working group of people I've ever seen. Get there early, sing loud, dance fast, and tip well. This place is worth coming into downtown, ANY night of the week. Oh, and for those of you looking for all of the hot women, try going in to Shout on a non-80's night, you won't be disappointed.
-- Frawlenator gave this bar a 5 out of 5 at 18:32 11.15.07
i <3 80's night. i'm there pretty much every week. if you can't have fun at the shout house you probably belong at someplace a little more high maintenience.
-- a-bomb gave this bar a 5 out of 5 at 16:02 06.22.07
80's night used to be cool. but the douche bag concentration has increased incredibly. what once used to be a fun, silly atmosphere where people would giggle at other's hilarious 80's outfits has now turned into a meat market where getting into the theme or coming straight from a twins game just isn't cool anymore (please see Peter's comments for varification).
-- old time rock and roll gave this bar a 3 out of 5 at 14:44 06.01.07
The best bar downtown. Great music, interaction, service, and of course the ever amazing Wed night specials of $1 beers, $1 Red Bulls, and $2 Specialty shots (which for some reason isn't on this site? but it real).Recommend this place to everyone from a young crowd to those who want to bring their rents out for a fun filled night.
-- Andrew gave this bar a 5 out of 5 at 19:59 01.25.07
$1 vodka red bulls are definately on point. This place is pretty much just a bunch of college white boys having a screaming contest. The one good looking girl you'll find will be with her man. The women there dress like a bunch of weirdos. I'm sorry, but Nike running shoes, Cherokee jeans, a Twins t- shirt, and a Colombia ski jacket is not sexy.
-- Peter gave this bar a 3 out of 5 at 19:23 01.17.07
The concept of dueling pianos did not appeal to me. The cover was $8. Drinks were so-so, service was so-so, crowd was obnoxious.
-- Bored! gave this bar a 2 out of 5 at 15:15 01.16.07
Shout House was open on a Monday night just for the people at the TIES convention. The service was great and the music amazing. There were three musicians, all able to play piano, guitar or drums. They were able to play most songs, but didn't do my only request. That's my sole complaint on the whole night... and we closed the place down.
-- Holly gave this bar a 5 out of 5 at 15:34 12.12.06
They may able to play just about any song, but you'll never know, if they only choose to play what they like, not what is requested (yes, this is the ghost of Barry Manilow). I won't assume it has anything to do with Mr. Manilow's ethnicity, as Madonna songs were played, the Celin Dion ones were not, not even the UB40, "Red, red wine". They do get points for creativity, thus earning the three stars, for their rendition of "I right the songs", to "I've got the schlong". It showed at least an effort to disguise their distaste for the selection, some 20 or 30 dollars later. Just pick classical or trendy stuff and don't be over thirty.

The most fun I have ever had in a bar! The people watching is second to none. Minneapolis is lucky to have a club this good.

Its fun but the girls there are NASTY! I met this one short larger girl there a couple of weeks ago, and booo, they are whores!

This place was so much fun. The musicians are entertaining and the music is great. Definitely check this place out if you haven't!
-- annie gave this bar a 5 out of 5 at 15:27 03.09.06
I've only been here a few times, but its super fun! The piano players can play virtually any song you request and everyone sings and dances along! Its best when packed on the weekends, get there early for a spot up front.

I really like the bar bitch...Joe. The bald guy. He is really cute.

If you are looking for something fun and entertaining... this is the place to be. I have never had bad service at Shout... the people who have probably leave a quarter as a tip, and I wouldn't serve you either :)
-- Dre gave this bar a 5 out of 5 at 19:02 01.17.06
I'm sorry, but Ive never been to a bar downtown where I've been served by a waitress. At least you could actually get to the bar here, and get a bartenders immediate attention. If you dont like this bar you're a lame-o. Cause its amazing! Great music, the staff is awesome and.. free popcorn.. YES!

-- Funk of G gave this bar a 1 out of 5 at 03:16 09.23.05
Went here one night after a scary movie. The service we received was even scarier. The place had all of 20 people there and with two servers standing at the bar, we weren't willing to wait long for a drink at our table. Approached the bar for a drink and was asked, "what do you need" from 10 feet away. Like my friend said, "there's a difference between casual and rude service. This was rude." I'll leave this place for the girls and their Hen Parties.
-- OUTn'about gave this bar a 1 out of 5 at 23:09 09.18.05
AWESOME entertainment--perfect for a girl's night out full of singing...but, really really bad bartender and cocktail waitreses--even when it was slow. Had to constantly go to bar to get drinks because waitress didn't come by and then had a grumpy bar tender. Go out for drinks first, then go here for fun.

Dueling pianos can play almost ANY song you can think of... SOOOO talented! Entertaining, and interactive. Not a bad seat in the house, friendly waitresses. A great time at any age! My new favorite bar!
