Sawatdee Bar & Café is one of the most popular Thai restaurants in the city, after you try one of their many authentic dishes you will know why (avg. menu price = $8-9). Perhaps that’s why several Sawatdees have sprung up all around the city, including several downtown locations, the suburbs, and Minneapolis Uptown. The one in the Minneapolis Warehouse district is definitely the best; its bright, centrally located, and has a very urban feel. The décor could be described as Asian Antique Urban; brightly painted happy walls, high ceilings, large factory style windows, and wood floors make this Sawatdee the perfect place for a sunny indoor lunch, or for a quite dim lit evening downtown.

Music is usually chill house music or jazz, whatever is on the satellite radio at the time.

The Night time crowd is in their mid-20’s. They line up along the long bar in the main room and sip beers and chill with friends. Everyone is friendly, especially the bartenders, who are professional and fun at the same time. Sawatdee offers a mid-sized, but excellent choice of tap beers including: Red Hook, New Castle, Bass… The best nights are near the end of the week during dinner time, 7 - 10pm, but weekends stay busy most of the night.

Now doing food delivery all over downtown!

Went in for a birthday party and waitress refused to do separate checks, i'm assuming so she could add on gratuity. so we were left to figure out the $300 tab. we requested separate bills when we first ordered so it shouldn't have been a problem. from a server standpoint the place is a mess. At work we order it a lot for lunch and the food is really inconsistent. If you order a XXX pad thai it might come out a X and once we opened it to discover it was only noodles, no scallions, no chicken, no spice... i think it could really benefit from new management.

i went for the late night happy hour last weekend on saturday. said they don't do it anymore. bummer. bartended did give us the happy hour price on the beer, so it makes me think it was because it was dead slow that happy hour didn't exist. gots to make the $$ somehow
