Very poor steak. We went to Murray's for our 25th wedding anniversity and ordered the butter knife steak. It was more like roast beef than steak. I guess when they say butter knife they mean one sharpened like a razor

We have gone here every year for over 15 years. It is a true MPLS tradition and great food. One of the best independent steak houses left in the upper midwest. Whether you eat in the bar or sit down at a table in the restaurant, a wonderful experience, and the staff treats you like a king/queen!

Not very impressed. I took my boyfriend there for his birthday and we ordered the silver butter knife steak meal for 2. The salad had way too much dressing. The garlic toast was drenched in butter and so were the mashed potatoes. We ordered our steak medium and it came extremely rare (and covered in butter). The service wasn’t anything special (especially for the price) and the tables were packed in super tight (extremely hard for the wait staff to navigate- one even spilt dressing all over and it spatter my boyfriend a little.) If you want a really special night out- go to the Nicollet Island Inn. As for Murray’s- save your money.

This place is a Minneapolis Institution! I dont know how great their happy hour specials are...but, frankly, I dont care! People go for the tradition and the atmosphere...especially at holiday time! It's like stepping back in time, into a Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers movie. Go for a special occasion or a date. Make sure you save plenty of room for the free garlic toast they serve in the bar, and with dinner. It's AMAZING! My friends and I always joke about bringing baggies in our purses, and filling them up with toast before we go. Yup...KLASSY. ;o)

great atmosphere and wonderful service. the food was delicious and i had a fabulous time. coming from chicago, i give props to murray's... and i will definitely be back.
