Campiello ($$$)

Campiello is a slightly more upscale version of D’Amico and sons with the same owner. It’s a small chain around the metro, but the one in uptown is more for dining rather than drinking. This is something Campiello would like to change and the reason for the new late night drink prices. The menu is posh Italian bistro style. They have great spicy sausages and wonderful pastas. They also serve great martinis and have a large selection of wines. The décor is pleasant and upscale. They also offer a large lot where parking is free during the week, $3 on the weekend. It’s definitely a spot we’d go for dinner if looking for a romantic date spot that is sure to be a hit.

Great atmosphere/ambiance. Decent wine list. Wait staff didn't hover, didn't rush and they got everything right. The only under-performer was the kitchen! Can't even tell you how disappointed we were that the seabass & salmon had been prepared to a dry rubber. Apps and main dishes were over salted/seasoned/sauced. There wasn't anyone at our table that enjoyed their main course for reason ssimilar. And we had such high hopes with the mayor sitting behind us......

Maybe if picky patty had some class and didn't weigh 400lbs he'd understand what Campiello is all about, great food and an amazing atmosphere. I love this place.

Hey, if you're a big guy, don't go here. It's one of those places that charges you 25-30$ for a fancy sounding plate of pasta. The server brings it out, and it's some decorative pile of crap in a small pile in the middle of your plate. Picture a plate the size of an LP record, and a dinner the size of a quarter. See ya
