The Lyons Pub is styled as a quaint and fun English Pub in downtown Minneapolis. There are 2 rooms and 2 levels, accommodating everyone’s’ tastes at any time (dance, laugh, talk, chill). The weekends (Th-Sat) are always the busiest, when the Lyons Pub opens up the dance floor for its 24-32 year old crowd. The music is everything from Retro 80’s to Top 40, to classic rock; “If someone has danced to it in the last 30 years, you’ll get to hear it here.� Dress is business casual, but there is no dress code and the great lighting will put you at ease, no matter how you are dressed. Everyone is incredibly nice and the food is rumored to be as incredible as the staff (whatever that means...). Lyons Pub serves up huge burgers and sandwiches alongside a heaping plate of fresh cut french fries ($6-8). They offer the standard 10 higher end taps like Bass & Guinness, but also have a few seasonals that are rotated. The Thrifty Hipster’s favorite part is the 20oz Pints, regularly priced $4-5, while rails are usually $3.50 (lower than average for downtown). They also offer a few large flat screens for watching the game and assorted specials during it. FOOD is served nightly until 11pm. THRIFTY TIP- Never a cover, always a DJ (M-Sat). FREE popcorn, but parking in the lot behind them costs money.
