Nothing Fancy, Everything Tasty
Harry's Food & Cocktails is a Washington Avenue treasure with classic character that's sorely missed by most downtown bars. If the extensive menu, fine cocktails, enormous patio, and chandelier made out of empty Grain Belt bottles aren't enough to charm you out of the gate, the service definitely will.
Harry's best asset may well be it's versatility. Whether you're going to a game at the Metro Dome, seeing a play at the Guthrie, or just looking to sit outside in the sun for lunch, Harry's comes ready to impress. The food is American comfort matched well by it's atmosphere, but don't think there is anything bland about this place. Many of the entrees will rival those found in fine dining rooms across the Twin Cities, and the drinks are potent and delicious. The next time you're in the area, let Harry's take care of you.
Parking validated at Portland Ave Ramp after 5pm weekdays and all day weekends

Harry's is a hit with this single 30-something chick. Went with 2 of my single friends and we liked it. The bartender was super friendly- offering advice on drinks, attentive but not obsequious. The crowd seemed more mature & we liked it that way. Definitely will go back. We barely missed HH, but $3.75 for a margarita is great, great atmosphere and friendly service- a must for a pleasant time with friends.

Sigh... Oh, Harry's. I used to LOVE this restaurant. When first opened the food was amazing, the vibe hip and fun. I used to go in weekly for the frenchie burger which had brie and truffled ham, ooh la la! However, that was when the kitchen ground their own burgers, the music was loud and hip, and the staff was lively and sexy. Now, this place feels like a Perkins off of 494. The food has gone "blah", the atmosphere has softened, and the staff seem sad. Too bad, because it's so close to home.
