Gameworks is a huge complex that centers itself as THE primeir arcade in the twin cities. They have several floors, multiple bars, and a large staff. It almost reminds me of a Las Vegas casino without the gambling (although they do have a horse racing game that is quite popular). They have huge game screens and the newest and best systems. The only problem is the price. I don't know who decided expensive ellaborate video games were the wave of the new downtown, becuase although they are fun, I have a hard time plopping down $20 for an hour worth of gameplay (actual time may vary).
The bowling is a little more reasonable if you bring a group and stay for a few hours becuase it gets cheaper by the hour. Upstairs houses about 10 lanes. All-in-All, I would say GameWorks is fun to those of us in the video game generation, just don't expect to come out with a buch of change left. And oh, it is almost impossible to use all your points on your card in one nite. You always seem to have a few left over.
They are open until 12am during the week and 2am on weekends.

I went there with a group of 5 people just because we were getting really hungry and it was right there. I honestly am not a picky eater or complain about restaurants much, but we honestly all had terrible meals. And TWO of the people with me had hair in their food. The server was friendly and gave good service, the games are always fun, but the drinks are incredibly over-priced and the food is terrible.

If you're really, really looking for a reason to enter Block E, visiting Gameworks ain't a good enough one. sterile, dull, overpriced.

This place can seem a little dodgy from outside-- but inside feels really quite safe, even from the perspective of a 5 foot 2 girl. I go for the DDR, and order a couple house margaritas-- only three bucks :) It is a shame the gaming is so expensive, though... And too many lame ass driving games and 1st person shooters. And Even Mrs. Pacman is expensive. Good if you really feel that need to game, though.

Drinks are horribly overpriced-- I dropped $20 on two small drinks in an empty bar. However, they have this 48 oz. margarita that can get an army drunk!

Best Deal if you want to party before going to Target Center!
