Gameworks is a huge complex that centers itself as THE primeir arcade in the twin cities. They have several floors, multiple bars, and a large staff. It almost reminds me of a Las Vegas casino without the gambling (although they do have a horse racing game that is quite popular). They have huge game screens and the newest and best systems. The only problem is the price. I don't know who decided expensive ellaborate video games were the wave of the new downtown, becuase although they are fun, I have a hard time plopping down $20 for an hour worth of gameplay (actual time may vary).

The bowling is a little more reasonable if you bring a group and stay for a few hours becuase it gets cheaper by the hour. Upstairs houses about 10 lanes. All-in-All, I would say GameWorks is fun to those of us in the video game generation, just don't expect to come out with a buch of change left. And oh, it is almost impossible to use all your points on your card in one nite. You always seem to have a few left over.

They are open until 12am during the week and 2am on weekends.

I found the greatest place to let your hair down at. It's called GameWorks! It's owned by Sega and it's the ultimate adult arcade. Here are top reasons for anyone to go there... Location, Location, Location!! It's across the street from the Target Center and First Avenue. There is a parking ramp right in the building. Drink Specials!! They have a kick-ass happy hour. It runs Monday - Friday from 4 to 8. All tap beers, house margaritas, and house wine are half off. There are also various drink specials on the weekends and durring all football games. Lunch and Bowl, Power Game!! Durring the week they have 2 different specials going on. For $10 you can either bowl for an hour or get a 1 hour game card. But, that's not all...food is included! How perfect is that?!? You can eat and be entertained for $10. The Gamefloor Staff!! I've never been to a place where the staff is so much fun. They will bend over backwards to make sure you are having a great time. Don't be surprised if they challange you to play a game. The Bartenders!! If they have the supplies, they can make you anything. All drinks are also free pour and not measured. Check this out...signature shoots! Just ask any bartender what their signature shoot is and they are glad to make it for you. Many have a really entertaining back story. It's a little personality in a glass! The Games!! There is bowling, first person shooters, darts, car racing, skee-ball, and more. You can win prizes with tickets or just show your friends and family your mad skills. They have these reloadable game card, so there is no need for change or tokens. Parties!! This is a great place to have a party at. There is no limit to the group size, you can choose a menu, and they do all of the set-up. I've seen a lot of corporate event there and boy are they taken care of. They have their own area and private servers and bartenders. Can't beat that! Tv's!! There has to be about 30 of them through out the building. They are showing just about any sporting event you can think of. If the game you want isn't being shown, they will be more than happy to change the channel for you. If you're looking for a great place to relax, laugh, and just have fun...check out GameWorks. Besides, it's owned by Sega the video game people.

I went there with a group of 5 people just because we were getting really hungry and it was right there. I honestly am not a picky eater or complain about restaurants much, but we honestly all had terrible meals. And TWO of the people with me had hair in their food. The server was friendly and gave good service, the games are always fun, but the drinks are incredibly over-priced and the food is terrible.

If you're really, really looking for a reason to enter Block E, visiting Gameworks ain't a good enough one. sterile, dull, overpriced.
