Acme Comedy Company was recently voted in the Top 10 comedy clubs in the Nation! We have a real gem in Minneapolis and a great following for great comedy. Acme books great national acts and opens with hilarious locals. The club is downstairs and boasts a very mixed aged and dressed crowd with one thing in common; they came to laugh.



The show room is non-smoking and your cell phones don’t work; this is the perfect atmosphere to see comedy. The bar plays the sport events of the evening and is separate from the show room. In addition, seating is ample and placed so that everyone has a good view. The drink prices are a little high, but worth it. Acme mixes up huge carafes of margaritas, White Russians, and other strong concoctions and the more you drink, the funnier they are.



Mondays at Acme feature rising local comedians for free. The rest of the week features the national or featured act (tix usually $15, $27 with dinner). Usually M-Th there is an 8pm show while the weekends have 2 at 8 and 10:30pm (call for specific details). Most people come for the show, and then head out afterwards; Acme is not a late night place.



NOTE: Reservations are encouraged and sometimes necessary for the bigger acts.



THRIFTY TIP- Sign up for their “Insider Night� and get free tickets, advanced show notices, and the chance to win fun prizes. Students receive $5 off tickets during the week. There is a lot for Acme, but park at the meters on the far side of the club for free (expire at 6pm).

Go there on Monday nights for open mic night. No cover and you get to see some pretty funny acts. There'll be some bad ones, but they're entertaining in their own way. Never had the food but the servers in the comedy area are great and the atmosphere is very original.

Thought we'd order food in the bar... the joke was on us! Horrible food, great drinks, and cheap entertainment! Eat at home before the show!

Insider's Night is cool cuz you get in for free (check out their website) but the drinks are HORRIBLE! Do NOT order liquor! Stick to beer! Although that is not cheap either. Best bet: bring a flask and order juice!

Trip 1: Charged twice for tickets on our credit card. It took time, but was eventually resolved, so we decided to try again. Trip 2: We were charged for extra beers by the wait staff. Figured it was an isolated problem, so decided we try another show. Trip 3: Attended the 10:30 Emo Phillips show and ordered a few drinks for our group. The waitress said she couldn’t make change for a $100 bill and that she’d be back with the change. After she made countless trips delivering drinks to other patrons, I asked for my change. When she brought it, it was short $20, so I had to ask for that back as well. I finally had my change just before the end of the show. This was also the show where staff asked a woman at the back of the room to stop laughing. Imagine – laughter at a comedy show! The immediate response is that the energy in the back half of the room died, which I’m sure the comic appreciated (not!) The woman and her date sat in stunned silence for a while before eventually deciding to leave. Trip 4: Hell will freeze over before that happens… It's too bad, because the acts are great.

Great club, great acts. Cheap tickets (students only $5)(Insuders free) Cant beat seeing all the rising stars on their way to the Tonight Shows, and Comedy central.
