 Downtown is defined as the area on the West side of 35W from Washington Avenue to Loring Park. Downtown is major shopping and business center of Minneapolis. Areas to go out in are by the Metrodome, Warehouse District, and Loring Park area. Most places are modern and unique. The 1st Avenue strip is where you want to go for drinking and fun if you are a tourist; 7 Blocks of busy, packed bars await you.

- Parking is cheap in the Marshal fields ramp after 6 pm.
- Free meters by Sex World at night after 9pm. You can usually park here and walk up the few blocks to the bars to avoid paying for parking.
- Weekdays are best; Downtown gets extremely busy on the Weekends.
- The ramp on 2nd Ave. & 7th St. has $1/hr. parking after 9pm on the weekends.
